After having my beautiful baby, I lost my core strength and my pelvic floor muscles. I had poor balance and 35 pounds to lose. It all felt overwhelming! We started training with Patti Bishop in February. She is an incredible trainer - motivating - yet still gentle with us, especially if we are having difficulty with an exercise or if our fitness level isn't high enough she is very attentive and will adjust the intensity. But she will still make you sweat!
The thing we enjoy the most is the variety of exercises. Every training session is populated with different exercises - we never know what we are going to do next - so there is no boredom factor.
Patti is also very knowledgeable about what exercises to do or stay away from if you have any injuries. Both of us have had to work through injuries and Patti is very accommodating, informed and helpful.

I took part in the Fit to Deliver classes from week 16 to week 37 of my pregnancy and it definitely helped to keep my energy up throughout my second and third trimesters. It made me feel healthier and also kept my pregnancy weight gain at a good level.
Overall, I was very satisfied with Patti as a trainer and the Fit To Deliver classes. It was great to meet other pregnant women going through the same experiences as me and to work out in an environment where you were comfortable. Patti was very knowledgeable about prenatal fitness and always came prepared for classes with a variety of exercises. She would always change things up so it made the classes fun and energetic.
I met Patti when I was struggling with motivation, routine, and back fat. I moved to Vancouver a little over a year ago and was trying to establish some sort of workout routine. I tried to go to the gym, but only managed once or twice a week. When I did make it, I was a cardio queen, in fact doing cardio was the only thing I felt comfortable doing at my gym.
Then Patti entered my life. We set up our personal training sessions twice a week, with our focus being primarily with core strengthening. Because I knew someone was waiting with bells on at the gym, I was committed to go. I would arrive to Patti's smiling face and energetic personality. She was always organized and prepared for our session. She methodically took me through a series of exercises that incorporated more than one muscle group. Our workouts were always challenging but never too crazy, and to be honest, I have never sweated so much in my life. I left feeling energized and rejuvenated, and I soon longed for more of Patti.
Three months into our workouts, I slipped into my sexy low riding jeans. My butt looked firmer and my back fat was no longer hanging over the sides of my jeans. I looked in the mirror and saw a fit, toned, and strong woman. I noticed in yoga classes I could hold the poses longer without quivering, my back ached less, and I had more energy.

Even if I felt icky and yucky, going to the gym was always fun. Kind of like going to the playground.
